About the event
Description: The Pillars of Computer Science (POCS) series lets teachers do deep dives into specific areas of the CS Standard and Computer Science to gain an understanding of the content area to develop lessons in the area. During a POCS session, teachers will do a content session to gain intuition about the topic, then do an applied session to get hands on with the topic, next a session about that area with respect to how it impacts our society and other academic disciplines, and finally, teachers will do a guided lesson development with one of our pedagogical experts.
In POCS 8: Cybersecurity, we’ll take a deep dive into one of the most essential and rapidly evolving topics in computer science — keeping information and systems safe. As cybersecurity becomes increasingly important in our interconnected world, helping students understand its foundations is vital for digital citizenship and future readiness. #Montclair
